"His paintings refer to the true and authentic reality of Molise in the 60s and 70s. Together with other Molise artists in the 70s he began an avant-garde figurative journey, experimentation and struggle concerning the social problems of those times.
He only paints Molise people and scenarios saying:
«I am attached to my land and to the men who live there and with my work I try to make them talk. They already possess the expressive force, the tragic, the dramatic and also the sense of peace. I like the obsessive backlit silences of the late morning or the nights full of nightmares and remote things along the ravines and cracks of this earth. In the things that are in front of me there is the real, the surreal and the essential. These few free men I love; I share their anxieties, defeats, heavy resignations and the expectation of the end. I already had this vision when I walked around these lands. Now I am more determined to consider the human vicissitudes of these places to draw from them, as far as I can, the tragic echoes and resonances they possess.»
An artist friend who influenced his painting was Renato Guttuso. He had a great interest in Impressionists such as Paul Cézanne, Francis Bacon, Pablo Picasso, Hieronymus Bosch and German Impressionist painters whom he particularly loved." from Wikipedia
