Beautiful intaglio print from etching by the Piedmontese painter and engraver Piero Ruggeri*,
titled lower left "At the window" and numbered 10/75,
signed lower right (in graphite outside the plate).
*Piero Ruggeri (1930 – 2009), Piedmontese painter, who, after studying at the Accademia Albertina in Turin, together with Giacomo Soffiantino and Sergio Saroni, gave birth to Informal painting, a prerogative in Europe and in the United States of De Staël, Bacon , De Kooning and Kline, but also by Wols, Appel and Jorn. A "naturalistic Informal" never betrayed or rather, as Angelo Mistrangelo underlines in the text accompanying the exhibition, "a naturalism reinterpreted, reconsidered, redefined with a vigorous, powerful, incisive sign". https://www.rivistasegno.eu/events/piero-ruggeri-materiche-lacerazioni/
