Cesare MAGGI (1881-1961) - Gray day in Bardonecchia

€ 6.500.00

Important oil painting on wood, published in the book by Giuseppe Luigi Marini "Cesare Maggi" on p. 369, notes no. 89.

Signed lower right, the painting had a scene of a player and bathers on the back. Thanks to careful restoration work, it was possible to separate the two faces of the painting, ensuring the original texture and thickness of the supports.

The landscape in question is entitled "Gray day in Bardonecchia" and can be dated from 1937-1940. It bears on the reverse descriptive cartouche of the Fogliato art gallery in Turin.

In perfect conservation conditions, it is framed within a splendid wooden frame carved and gouache gilded with pure gold leaf.

FRAME DIMENSIONS: 80 x 70 cm

DIMENSIONS OF THE PAINTING: 58 x 50 cm
