Gorgeous Qum carpet.
The motif is inspired by the square design of the Bakhtiari, a recurring oriental decorative pattern formed by squares containing plant and floral motifs.
This type of carpet takes its name from the production centre, Qum (or Qom), the most ancient holy city for Shiite Islam.
In good conservation conditions, there are some shortcomings along the edge as shown in the photographs.
